Our Service Areas Have Merged!
At the Susan G. Komen® offices of Northeast and Northwest Louisiana, we’ve been very busy with day-to-day community work, supporting our survivors, and helping women (and men) find breast cancer early so they can beat it. As we’ve collaborated with each other over the years, we’ve noticed that we all do a lot of the same things on a daily basis. This duplication of effort made us wonder; could we do more together, saving valuable time and money?
Over the last year or so, we’ve begun to discuss teaming up to make a greater impact on this disease all across North Louisiana. Now the boards and staffs are ready to take this relationship to the next level. We’re excited to announce that the Komen Affiliates of Northwest Louisiana and Northeast Louisiana are joining forces to make a bigger impact in the fight against breast cancer!
We know that change can be scary, but please hear us out. We’ve taken measures to ensure that this operational consolidation doesn’t change the things that matter most to our supporters:
Your local office and support staff remains the same
You will still have your local Race for the Cure®
Your donations will still fund local breast health programs and organizations
By combining our operations while keeping our community outreach local, we will become even more efficient with our administration and drive more resources to fulfilling our mission. The end result is a lean, mean (nice, actually) breast cancer-fighting machine!
We will formally announce our collaboration mid-January, but as a key community partner we wanted you to be the first to know. Our Community Grants will continue to be a central feature of our mission. We welcome all comments and feedback as we transition to shared platforms. Each Susan G. Komen Affiliate was started by a few, caring people and has grown into a community of generosity, strength, determination and passion for the cause. Please help us as we look toward a bright future in which we strive to expand our pink footprint to help everyone in North Louisiana find and beat breast cancer.
