Partners in Wellness
Feist-Weiller Cancer Center sponsors the community-based Partners in Wellness health screening program that operates on a year-round basis. A mobile cancer screening unit with the only mobile digital mammography equipment in north Louisiana travels to rural communities providing them with adequate access to cancer prevention and early detection initiatives. Partners in Wellness cancer screening is free to financially qualified uninsured or under-insured individuals. Screening tests for prostate, colorectal, breast and cervical cancer are offered. The goal of the program is to reduce the burden of cancer in Louisiana through early detection and prevention. Partners in Wellness aims to promote good health through routine screening exams and education
Richland Parish/Delhi Hospital
Through our continued partnership with East Carroll & Madison Parish, we will offer breast health education, transportation services & access to screening/diagnostic mammograms to uninsured/underinsured women. In addition, our coalition of Project Pink Cadets (local hair stylists serving as breast health advocates) provides a community-based approach towards increasing breast health awareness.
Union General Hospital
UGH provides mammograms and educational outreach to low income, underserved women in Union Parish. Our target population is women age 40 and older who have not had a mammogram performed in a year or more and are uninsured or under-insured.
